Abstract: In order to explore the effect of different controlled-release fertilizers on vegetable in greenhouse, the author carried out an experiment of nylon net bag to study nutrient release characteristics of controlled-release fertilizers with different release durations, and their effects on tomato’ root growth, nutrient use efficiency and economic returns in field trials. The results showed that controlled-release fertilizers CRU and CRF could maintain root activity level for a relatively long time, which could promote tomato yield and quality. Under the same N, P, K application rates, compared with common compound fertilizers, CRU and CRF increased tomato yield by 7.8%-15.7%, and net earning by 2287.5-10677.0 yuan/hm2. The effects of different controlled-release fertilizers with different release durations on tomato quality were different. Compared with common compound fertilizers, Vc content of tomato applied with CRU and CRF-B,CRF-C all increased, and sugar acid ratios of the treatments were lower than CK. Controlled-release fertilizers could promote root growth and activity level during the picking time of tomato, as well as the yield and quality.
