Abstract: The use of sulfuryl fluoride fumigation agent in the disinfection of substrate has not been reported in China before. In order to confirm the effect of sulfuryl fluoride fumigation agent on the economic traits, yield and soil-borne diseases of substrate-cultivated tomato and eggplant, studies on the control effect of tomato late blight and eggplant bacterial wilt disease and the yield were conducted in 2013—2014. The results showed that the control effect of the 3 doses with sulfuryl fluoride fumigation agent of 10, 20, 40 g/m3 and the 3 fumigating durations of 3, 5, 7 d were significantly better than that of the conventional formaldehyde disinfection in controlling tomato late blight and eggplant bacterial wilt disease; the treatment could significantly increase plant height and stem diameter, and raise the yield. The treatment effect was improved with the increase of the application of sulfuryl fluoride fumigation agent, the differences of fumigating durations were not significant. It was recommended that 40 g/m3 sulfuryl fluoride fumigation agent should be applied for 5 days in production.
