Abstract: In order to explore the best allocation of field structure for high potato yield in intercropped potato and maize with the row ratio of two to one, the authors carried out a field experiment with four patterns including the factors of bandwidth, interval, row and plant spacing. Results showed that under the pattern of the bandwidth of 120 cm, the interval of 40 cm, and both the row and plant spacing of 40 cm, the yield of fresh potatoes, marketable tuber percentage, leaf area index (LAI), photosynthetic rate (Pn), transpiration rate (Tr) and stomatal conductance (Gs) were extremely significant or significantly higher than those under the other three patterns. Thus, we concluded that this allocation made better use of photosynthetically active radiation and was the optimal pattern, and suggested that it should be generalized in agricultural production.
