Analyzing Pyrolysis Products of Honeysuckle by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer

Abstract: The aim is to study the feasibility of casing honeysuckle to cigarette to improve sensory quality. Honeysuckle powder was pyrolyzed using online pyrolytic technology to simulate cigarette smoking, and the aerobic pyrolysis products were analyzed by GC- MS. The products of honeysuckle pyrolyzed with rapidly programmed temperature in nitrogen-oxygen mixture containing 9% oxygen were identified with NIST library and AMDIS (Automatic Mass Spectral Deconvolution and Identification System), and more than 80 kinds of components were identified including many aldehydes, ketones, esters, phenols, alkanes, benzene series and others, more than 30 components were related to cigarette sensory quality mostly. Some aerobic pyrolysis products were main components constituting cigarette aroma, and they could improve sensory quality of cigarette.
