Abstract: Chlorantraniliprole is a new anthranilic diamide insecticide acting with high efficacy on insect ryanodine receptors. Because of its high insecticidal activity, chlorantraniliprole has been widely used for pest control in agriculture, especially lepidopteran pests of rice, vegetable, fruit and other agricultural crops. Due to its years of large-area continuous use, great concern has been raised regarding chloran- traniliprole residue problems and harmfulness to farm product and ecological environment. To understand the residue dynamics of chlorantraniliprole, based on recent literatures, the residue analytical methods of chlorantraniliprole in different samples were briefly introduced. The major pretreatment of samples were described in detail, such as the extraction, purification and detection technologies. Also, the residue dynamics of chlorantraniliprole in farm producuts and environmental samples including vegetable, fruit, grain crops and soil were reviewed in order to provide a guide and theoretical basis for scientific use and residual control of chlorantraniliprole in agriculture.
