Chromosome Doubling of Potentilla reptans L. var. sericophylla and Its Application Value

Abstract: In order to obtain higher ornamental value and strong resistance of the variant plants of Potentilla reptans L. var. sericophylla. The change of the multiple of the chromosome group is an important aspect that causes the plant to produce bigger genetic variation and produce new varieties. The normal plant that seeded with colchicine induced double Potentilla chinensis Ser. To compare normal plants, 1 and 2 generations of Potentilla chinensis Ser in plant morphology, pore size, flower size, chlorophyll content, SOD, POD, CAT and character variation analysis. Finally, it was successfully selected and can be stably inherited. There were large leaves, large flower diameter, bright color, high chlorophyll content, high SOD activity, high POD activity and high CAT activity. Have high ornamental and strong resistance of Potentilla chinensis Ser after colchicine treatment. High ornamental and strong resistance of tetraploid can be used as a good groundcover plants applied in garden greening project.
