Abstract: Light is one of the most important factors influencing plants growth and development, while the illumination shortage and the low-light adversity in greenhouse are always caused by the special restriction conditions, thus the low- light stress has become a hot research spot in cultivation field. The authors summarized some characteristics, such as vegetation growth, photosynthetic traits, physiological and biochemical responses to adversity and concluded the relationships between the indicators and output under the low-light stress. Scientific research and production in recent years showed that: the chloroplast structure, enzymatic activity, osmotic adjustment and endogenous hormones were the key elements for adapting to lowlight hardiness. During that period, researches on multiple low-light proof mechanism achieved breakthrough progress. However, there was still no systemic elaboration on the differences of period, region and varieties. So we should make further exploration about plants’growth regulations, especially on other stresses under lowlight, gene expression and regulation of low- light stress in order to provide reference for improving the resistance of varieties and screening more low-light resistant varieties.
