Abstract: To get new varieties of Hemerocallis with excellent ornamental characteristics,H.‘Gleber’s Top Gream’(as female parent) and H.‘Pink silk ruffle’(as male parent) were crossed and some hybrids were obtained. 4 hybrids with stable characteristics were selected. Hybrid identification was conducted with morphological observation and karyotype analysis. The results showed that the 4 hybrids obtained the morphological characteristics of both female parent and male parent, the parents and the 4 hybrids were all diploids (2n = 2x = 22), the most karyotype parameters of the 4 hybrids were between their parents, the karyotype of most hybrids were 2B. The morphological and cytological characteristics proved that hybrids integrated the genetic material and morphological traits from their parents, and were identified as true hybrids, which provided new germplasm materials for selecting new varieties of Hemerocallis hybrida.
