Effect of Environment on Growth, Quality and Yield of Different Colored Cherry Tomato Varieties

Abstract: In order to clarify the differences among cherry tomato varieties, four colored varieties were selected to compare the variety characteristics, growth status, quality, yield and disease resistance. The results showed that the yield of variety pink‘Tianmei’was the highest (5.93 kg/m2), and the fruits had medium hardness and good taste. The content of vitamin C and total sugar of variety red‘Yanfei 202’was the highest, 41.1 mg/100 g and 5.2 g/100 g, respectively, but the fruits had thick skin and poor taste. Variety black‘Heifei’had vigorous growth and good taste, but the fruits were easy to crack, less resistant to extrusion, and difficult to be stored and transported. In conclusion, among all the varieties,‘Tianmei’is the best as edible product, and‘Yanfei 202’ is the best as processed product.
