Abstract: Based on the development of vegetable seed industry and accounting methods of output value on other seed industries, combining other accounting methods of output value on vegetable seed industry, this paper calculated the output value of vegetable seed industry between 2005 and 2015 based on farmers’ data. Due to difficulties on obtaining the data, we used the indirect method to calculate the output value. The conclusions were as follows. The output value of vegetable seed industry was 27.006 billion yuan in 2015. The maximum was Shandong province whose value was 4.088 billion yuan. Other province whose value above 2 billion yuan were including Hebei, Jiangsu and Henan province. The minmum was Sichuan province whose value was less than 1 billion yuan. According to the geographical analysis, the maximum value was in the eastern China and the minmum one was in the western China. The top five provinces of vegetable seed industry output value were Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu and Hubei. The last five provinces of vegetable seed industry output value were Hainan, Tianjin, Beijing, Qinghai and Tibet. The output value of vegetable seed industry in the northeast China was descend in 2008 firstly then ascend in 2011, which was mainly due to the fluctuate of vegetable seed price and vegetable seed quantities. The output value of vegetable seed industry in the mid-eastern China had a slight downward. In view of the above comprehensive analysis, the changed in ranking of the output value of vegetable seed industry was mainly influenced by the vegetable seed price, vegetable seed quantities and the climate change. The seeding area had less influence than others.
