Abstract: Tea polyphenols are the main active ingredient of tea. Various studies have shown that tea polyphenols confer great beneficial effects to the health of consumers including anti-oxidation, anti-tumor, anti-aging, hypoglycemic, radiation protection and other biological activity. However, one of the greatest challenges in developing tea polyphenols is their instability. Tea polyphenols are susceptible to oxidation, polymerization and condensation due to factors such as light, temperature, pH and other factors, so that their biological activity changes. Therefore, high throughput quantitative and rapid analysis of polyphenols in tea have great biological and clinical significance. High performance liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, near infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance are the main methods for high throughput quantitative analysis of tea polyphenols. These methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. In the present paper, it reviewed the analysis methods and applications of high throughput quantitative of tea polyphenols. Additionally, it analyzed the problems and advantages of these methods. It hoped to provide a reference for the high throughput detection of tea polyphenols.
