Fresh-keeping Film and Preservatives: Effects on Muskmelon Storage Quality

Abstract: For the high quality of muskmelon choose the more fresh-keeping film and preservative, improve its storage fresh quality. In this study, Xizhou Mi 25 as the test material, the use of conventional PE and PVC film packaging, and the current freshness of the better 1-MCP preservative and chitosan for fresh treatment, the preservation of plastic wrap and preservative treatment of muskmelon Storage quality. The results showed that the use of plastic wrap than the no-use of plastic wrap effect is not good, the use of preservative than the no-use of preservative effect is good, PE plastic wrap better than PVC cling film, 1-MCP preservative and chitosan because of its freshness is not the same , Fresh effect is different, but both to improve the quality of muskmelon storage have a very good effect. Therefore, PE cling film packaging combined with 1-MCP preservation or chitosan coating is one of the effective means to obtain high quality muskmelon.
