MYB Transcription Factor in Sugar Beet: Bioinformatics Analysis and Differential Expression During Seed Germination

Abstract: This study aims to understand the expression pattern of sugar beet’s MYB gene family in arid environment. We conducted Illumina Hi Seq on the transcriptome of sugar beet at germination stage in the experimental group and the distilled water control group simulated by 15%PEG under drought stress. Results showed that 79 MYB transcription factors were obtained, including 42 differentially expressed under drought stress. The amino acid sequence analysis showed that the MYB transcription factors in sugar beet germination contained eight motifs, and the eight motifs’structure domain contained different numbers of amino acid sites, which were speculated to be associated with the corresponding DNA molecules for binding and functioning. In this study, MYB gene of sugar beet in response to drought stress during germination is analyzed to provide genetic resources and theoretical basis for sugar beet breeding against drought stress.
