Abstract:

The COVID-19 epidemic has caused serious effects on China’s aquaculture, and aquatic products’ circulation and consumption, especially on the breeding and marketing of special aquatic products, and the effects are still further extending. In order to understand the effects of the epidemic on Alosa sapidissima production, the research team surveyed the professionals, farmers and traders in the main production area of A. sapidissima (the Yangtze River Delta region) in October 2020 by investigation, telephone interview and discussion. The team analyzed the actual conditions and existing problems of A. sapidissima breeding, circulation, catering and so on during the epidemic period and explored the impact of epidemic prevention and control on A. sapidissima production. In view of the prominent problems in current A. sapidissima production, relevant suggestions were put forward: guiding the consumer market and reducing the market size, innovating the sales mode and activating family cooking; developing high resistance varieties and changing the aquiculture mode, strengthening the technical training and guiding the green development.
