Abstract:

In the recent 40 years, China has achieved many phased achievements in the research of livestock and poultry breeding information technology. Quantitative analysis of the research lineage, current situation, hot spots and trends in this field can provide useful reference for the development direction, discipline layout and future planning of livestock and poultry breeding information technology. The scientific research literature in the field of information technology of livestock and poultry breeding collected by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from January 1980 to February 2022 was used as the data source, we constructed a multi-conditional combination of professional search formulas to obtain 1908 valid documents and establish a literature database, and then used bibliometrics and CiteSpace 5.8.R3 to conduct quantitative analysis. The analysis of literature distribution time and evolutionary trend shows that the research on livestock and poultry farming informatization in China has roughly gone through three development stages of 1980-2004, 2005-2013 and 2014 to now. The institution with the most publications in this field is the School of Information and Electrical Engineering of China Agricultural University, and most of the institutions and researchers still have much room for communication and cooperation. The hotspot analysis shows that the three keywords that appeared most frequently are IOT, animal husbandry, and informatization, and the keyword clustering reveals that the research on livestock and poultry breeding informatization mainly focuses on 16 topics and 6 general directions, such as information technology, feeding standards, and animal husbandry production. The cooperation between authors and units should also be strengthened in future research.
