Abstract:

In order to guarantee the supply of high-quality plant protein in temperate regions and accelerate the selection and breeding of high-protein faba bean varieties, the genetic law of protein content of faba bean was analyzed. An F2 population was constructed with the high-protein content material 'Sheep's Eye Bean' (H0001860) as the father and the low-protein content material 'Big Grain Bean' (H0004518) as the mother, and the genetic analysis of faba bean protein content was carried out by using the Dumas combustion nitrogen determination method and the main gene+multigene hybrid model. The optimal genetic model for protein content of faba bean was 2MG-EA (2 pairs of equal additive principal genes) model, and the additive effect value da(d) of the 2 pairs of equal additive principal genes model was 1.7238, and the additive effect showed a positive effect. The genetic variance of the main gene was 2.4817, and the heritability of the main gene was high (62.0286%). The optimum genetic model for protein content of faba bean is 2 pairs of equal additive main gene model, and genetic improvement of protein content of faba bean should be carried out in early segregating generations.
