Abstract:

The DELLA proteins act as the major negative regulatory protein involved in the gibberellin signaling pathway, and they play an important role in plant-environment interactions and the regulation of plant growth and development. In order to explore the structural characteristics and functions of the longan DELLA gene family, this study performed genome-wide identification and bioinformatics analysis of the longan DELLA gene family (named DlDELLA). Based on the 'Jidanben' longan genome and transcriptome data published in our previous study, 10 DlDELLAs were identified, which were distributed on seven different chromosomes and all contained conserved DELLA domains. Subcellular localization analysis revealed that DlDELLAs were located in the nucleus, cytoplasm, chloroplast and endoplasmic reticulum. Phylogenetic tree analysis showed that the 10 DlDELLA proteins were divided into five subfamilies. Cis-acting element analysis showed that the promoter region of DlDELLA genes contained several elements relevant to light response, hormone response, stress response and plant development. The expression analysis revealed significant variations in the expression levels of DlDELLAs among different organs. Most DlDELLA family members were expressed in seeds, roots, stems and flowers, while DlDELLA5 was only expressed in leaves, DlDELLA9 was only expressed in seeds, and DlDELLA10 was only expressed in roots. The above studies enhance our understanding of the DlDELLA gene family in longan and provide theoretical guidance and reference for the study on the function of DlDELLA genes.
