Abstract: Through the past twenty years reform and open-door development, great changes have taken place in the socio-economic contexts for agri-science work in Jiangsu province and the subjects for scientific progress. Facing the new situation and existing problems, it is suggested that the government should increase its investment, maintain a stable grass-root agri-science teams, improve the working conditions of city and county level agri-science research stations and institutes, sut up the double evaluating systems for advancement and practicality in order to encourage agri-science workers to deal with the practical technical problems in agri-productions of our province, boost foreign and domestic private capital investment into agriculture, promote the development of large family-based special line enterprises and agri-economic organizations, and the state purchases of agri-products and extend practical agri-technologies, etc.
