Abstract: Selenium (Se) is an essential trace element for human body. By treating with sodium selenite (40 mg/kg) at rice heading for eighty percent, dual-purpose rice 201 improved its Se content to 0.27 mg/kg (p<0.05) compared with untreated 201 rice. In addition, Se content was enriched for about 3 and 4 times higher in treated rice bran and straw than it in untreated one, respectively (p<0.05), which might provide as material for production of Se-enriched edible fungi.
