Abstract: The effects of bromocriptine mesilate and clomifene citrate on broody days, reproductive performance, eggs’ quality of broodying silki hens. 36 broodying silki hens were alloted randomly to 3 groups: hens of trail 1 were given bromocriptine mesilate per os 2 days(1.25mg/day/hes), then clomifene citrate 5 days(12.5mg/day/hen); hens of trial 2 were given bromocriptine mesilate 4 days, then given clomifene citrate 3 days. The results showed that the average brooding days of trial 1 was 6.67 days, that of trial 2 was 6.83 days, that of control group was 8.58 days. Average lay rate within 30 days were 37.72%(control group), 59.65%(trial 1), 53.51%(trial 2) respectively, trial group was obviously higher than control group(P<0.05). Average egg size of control group, trial 1, trial 2 were 43.86g, 44.65g, 44.16g respectively, and average egg shape index were 1.306, 1.312, 1.323 respectively, and average egg shell thickness were 0.327mm, 0.338mm, 0.332mm respectively. The effects of bromocriptine mesilate and clomifene citrate on egg size, egg shape, egg shell thickness were not obvious(P＞0.05).
