Abstract: Base on the technology of RS and GIS the TM image in 1989 and ETM image in 1999 were used to study the pattern change in Donggang city during the past ten years. The study result shows that the area of artificial wetland generally increases and the area of natural wetland generally reduces. Average fractal dimension index generally reduces. Landscape fragmentation index increases. Landscape diversity index and predominance index increases. Evenness index decreases. Landscape contagion index increases. The change of wetlands landscape pattern was the result of expanding town, Large area planting of the rice and large development of the feeding. Human activity was the main driving factor for landscape change.
