Abstract: The growing environment and status survey of the Ancient Sophora japonica L. trees, along with their analysis of leaf and soil nutrition contents around their growing area, were reported in this study. The results showed that the limited nutrition absorption restraint the growth and development of their roots of those growing in the extremely poor soil conditions in term of nutrition contents, which resulted in damages of the whole trees. This suggests that adding fertilizer containing necessary nutrition elements N, P, Ca, Mg and Zn might help recover the growth of these ancient trees. The theoretical and practical strategies and methodology of protection and recovery of the scholar trees in order to delay the tree senility were also discussed in this study.
