Abstract: With seedlings of three maple A. oliverianum, A. sinense and A. longipes collected from Hengyang, hunan province as the experimental materials, the characters of physiology and biochemistry were determined in different drought condition through unwatered potted plant and compared with normal watering. The result showed the tendency of physiological and biochemical indexes in three seedlings in different drought condition were general similar, but the variation level of indexes in three seedlings were different. By coordinate composite evaluation, the results indicated that the drought resistance ability of A. longipes seedlings were first, the A. sinense seedlings were second and the A. oliverianum seedlings were inferior. Thereby the result can provide scientific basis for north to introduce landscape trees.
