Abstract: Abstract: in order to learn light and temperature environment in tunnel at Spring, chose the index of tolerant to low temperature and poor light and select optimal tomato variety for tunnel culture at Hefei as well, the light and temperature environment inside and outside tunnel from March to April was studied, different varieties culture experiments and the effect of low temperature and poor light on physiological indicators including leaf chlorophyll content, Pn, MDA content and SOD activity were carried out. the results indicated that the averaged temperature is about 20 ℃ inside tunnel, 5℃ higher than outside, averaged light intensity 20 klx inside. The low temperature and poor light inside happened at cloudy and rainy weather. The low temperature and poor light inside happened at cloudy and rainy weather. The leaf chlorophyll content varied with different tomato varieties, variety “Meizhoubao” and “Tianfu168” higher in chlorophyll content and “Tianfu501” higher in Pn, which was consistent with tolerant capacity to temperature and poor light. Effects on leaf MDA content and SOD activity varied remarkably under low temperature and poor light, MDA content in both varieties “Tianfu501” and “Tianfu168” lower while SOD activity higher compared with the control. The low temperature and poor light environment and tolerant capacity to low temperature and poor light of tomato were discussed in the article, the leaf chlorophyll content at plantlet and MDA content under low temperature and poor light were concerned to be the reference index for tolerant capacity to low temperature and poor light of tomato.
