Abstract:

【OBJECTIVE】The experiment was conducted to synthesize two novel superoxide dismutase complexes, and study their effect on the resistance environmental stress of crop.【METHOD】The SOD mimics: cmcts-Cu(Ⅱ)-bpy(1)and cmcts-Cu(Ⅱ)-phen(2)(cmcts= carboxymethyl chitosan, bpy=2,2’-bipyridine,phen=1,10-pehnanthroline) were characterized by infrared absorption spectrum, electronic absorption spectrum and atomic absorption spectrometry, and the effect of the SOD Mimics on the salt stress of maize seedlings has been studied by the way of soaking and spraying 0.08~0.24 mg?L-1 SOD mimics.【RESULTS】The results showed that the SOD mimics increased the biomass [2.38~53.02 %(leaf),25.00~64.29 %(fresh)],and enhanced the high SOD activities (0~95.99 %) of the maize seedlings.【CONCLUSION】The SOD mimics had good SOD-like activities, and could effectively protect the maize seedlings against the salt stress.
