Abstract:

Abstract: With a long cultivated history in China, Catalpa ovata is the valuable timber and famous ornamental tree specie. But nowadays, it's not used enough in landscape greening and its resources show a gradually declining tendency. Based on the relative literatures, this paper gives a brief commentary on the germplasm resources and biological characteristics of Catalpa ovata, summarizes the cultural and historical connotations, and describes the ways of application in landscape greening in order to promote its exploitation and utilization.
