Abstract:
In order to develop new and high effective plant pesticide, the possibility of Inula Salsoloides Ostenf. as botanical pesticide was investigated. Contacting toxicity, antifeeding, inhibiting oviposition, stomach poisoning and inhibiting growth and development of the ethanol extract from Inula Salsoloides Ostenf. against 3th instar larvae of plutella xylostella were determined in laboratory. The results indicated that the ethanol extract displayed obvious contacting toxicity and antifeeding effect against 3th instar larvae of plutella xylostella. The corrected mortality and antifeedant rate both increased with the increasing of extract concentration. The LC50 of contacting action was 4.949 g/L by dipping method. The choice AFC50 and the non-choice AFC50 were respectively 4.676 g/L and 4.189 g/L at 24 h. The extract displayed good potentials of inhibiting oviposition. The repelling rate was more than 70% at 24 h. The repelling effect gradually decreased as the time increased. The extract also displayed stomach poisoning and inhibiting growth and development on plutella xylostella. The study suggested that the ethanol extract from Inula Salsoloides Ostenf. had higher contacting toxicity and antifeeding against 3th instar larvae of plutella xylostella. Therefore, Inula Salsoloides Ostenf. had potential development value as plant pesticide.
