Abstract:

Put forward as a building concept, “grey space” mainly refers to the transition space of the connection between indoor and outdoor. In recent years, this term has been gradually applied in the field of landscape architecture. Based on the former research of grey space in landscape and architecture, this paper put forward the definition of “urban park grey space”, and identified the properties, shape, density, and types of “urban park grey space”. The author conducted specific studies on the 12 grey spaces in Harbin Sun Island Park, classified these spaces into four categories according to their shape and analyzed these samples from quality, density and types three perspectives. Through the analysis above, this paper will provide some beneficial inspirations for the future design of urban park.
