Abstract:

Abstract: On the basis of investigation on converting farmland to forest and poverty conditions in the 31 counties of the poverty-stricken area around Beijing and Tianjin’s, the article analyzes the relationship between converting farmland to forest and poverty. The analysis result indicates that the project of converting farmland to forest does not aggravate poverty degree of the local people’s life, and not promote local economic’s development too. Finally, the article suggestes that it is needed to combine the achievement’s consolidation of converting farmland to forest with antipoverty measures, and then puts forward some relevant proposals.
