Abstract:

In order to research the relationship between growth status of ancients and soil properties, the author analyzed the chemical characteristics of soils in different districts in Beijing. The representative ancient trees in Beijing are Pinus bungeanaas, Platycladus orientalis, Pinus tabulaeformis and Sophora japonica. The author analyzed 4 kinds of ancient soil pH value, organic matter, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total potassium, available nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium in 8 kinds of chemical properties by the field acquisition, laboratory test, data processing and calculation, respectively, in Ming Dynasty Tombs of Kim Wong Fen, the Fragrance Hill, Ming Dynasty Tombs of the Ming Dynasty and the North Second Ring Road region. This results showed that soil nutrient content were obvious different between 4 regions. The ancient trees in Ming Dynasty Tombs of Kim Wong Fen had barren condition of organic matter, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus. The ancient trees in Ming Dynasty Tombs of the Ming Dynasty lacked of total phosphorus and available phosphorus too. This research provided effective data to support the next step for the rejuvenation of old trees.
