Abstract:

Development of China’s seed industry experienced two development stages of planned economy and market economy. After entering market economy, foreign multinational seed companies entered the Chinese market and brought a great pressure to the development of China’s seed industry. This article demonstrates present situation of the development of China’s seed industry in regards to development background of China’s seed industry, overview of seed industry market, overview of research, overview of seed companies and so on; indicates some problems present in the development of seed industry, such as inadequate innovative ability of science and technology, week foundation of research and development of science and technology, and difficult transformation of scientific and technological outcomes; and proposes that it is to enforce protection of intellectual property of seed industry, facilitating enterprise reasonable transition and resource allocation, strengthen personnel training.
