ISSR Analysis of 18 Bergenia purpurascens Resources in Yunnan

Abstract:

The objective of this paper is to reveal the genetic diversity of Bergenia purpurascens (Hook. f. et Thoms.) Engl. in Yunnan. 18 Bergenia resources collected from different locations in Yunnan were used as research materials and the ISSR molecular marker was employed to reveal their genetic diversity. The result showed that 275 ISSR bands were amplified from 18 Bergenia resources by 26 primers. Among them 232 bands were polymorphic bands and the polymorphic rate reached at 84.2%. This result revealed that there was rich genetic diversity among resources of B. purpurascens in Yunnan. The Dice similarity coefficient between every two resources of B. purpurascens varied from 0.651 to 0.841 and several resources from the same area failed to be grouped together first on the dendrogram. This result inferred that the differentiation level of B. purpurascens in Yunnan was very high.
