Abstract: To explore the application of Sorghum sudanensei (Piper) Stapf on vegetation restoration in heavy metals Cu contaminated soil, the seeds were as the materials to research the effects of different copper (Cu) concentrations on seed germination and seedlings growth. The results showed that: the treatments with low 10 mg/L Cu treatments had significant promoting effect on the germination percentage, germination vigor, germination index and 5 mm coleoptile length, and inhibition effect with increasing Cu concentrations. There was a stronger inhibitory effect of seedling height, root length, fresh and dry weight to Cu concentrations. Aerial part of Sorghum sudanense. Seedling height was more sensitive than root length to Cu. Heavy metals Cu Sorghum sudanense seed germination and seedling growth inhibitory effect on vegetation should be measured to determine the amount of planting and seed after the soil Cu content.
