Abstract: This article summarized the establishments and developments of pesticide residues standards of apple in China and European Union. The results showed that there were 66 kinds of pesticide residue limited on apple in China, and 389 in European Union (included temporary limited). Moreover, the article analyzed the comparison of pesticide residue limits in China with which in European Union, and revealed that in 66 kinds of pesticide MRL in China, there were 10 kinds no limit in EU, 7 kinds above the EU limit, 13 kinds consistent with EU, 36 kinds below the EU limits. This research indicated the problems of pesticide residues standards of apple in China, included lack of consistency, less variety, low requirements specified limits, and unbalanced types. Furthermore it pointed out the suggestions from the standard setting, information exchange and talent development.
