Abstract: Selenium is one of the beneficial elements of plant, which has also been confirmed as one of the trace elements to enhance the resilience of plants. To introduce both foreign and domestic research state of application with selenium on plant to enhanced resilience against various stress, it has retrieved reports that about the relationship between selenium and the biological function of adversity stress containing heavy metal, plant diseases and insect pests, salt stress, drought, high temperature or freezing stress. Here, the research progress of the role selenium plays on every adversity conditions was summarized and discussed based on the statistical analysis of the research on the relationship between the resistance ability of selenium and plant. Pointing out that research of selenium enhancing resilience on plants, under the pests and drought stress, need to be strengthened. Further more study should focus on the mechanism of selenium improving plant against heavy metal stress. The purpose was to provide theoretical basis for the promotion of selenium that used in the field of environmental pollution, agricultural production safety and so on.
