Abstract: The aim was to establish a simultaneous determination method of 6 heavy metal elements including As, Cr, Cd, Ni, Pb and Se in honeysuckle by ICP- MS, and to detect heavy metal contents in honeysuckle samples from 9 producing areas. Samples were digested with microwave, and were determined by ICP- MS. Standard solvent was added to samples to investigate the accuracy, precision, linear range and limit of quantitative of the method. The average recovery rates of the 6 heavy metal elements were in the range of 97.4%-105.4% with the relative standard derivation of 0.6%-3.5%. The limit of quantitative was 0.2 μg/L. 6 heavy metal elements of 9 samples were determined with this method, and the average content of As, Cr, Cd, Ni, Pb and Se was 0.38, 0.62, 0.22, 2.02, 0.84, 0.70 mg/kg, respectively. 9 samples could be clustered into 4 kinds. The method was sensitive and accurate, and suitable for determining 6 heavy metal elements in honeysuckle, and their contents of samples from 9 producing areas were in the limit range of Chinese Pharmacopoeia Regulation.
