Abstract: In order to study the short- time improvement effect of different application models (single and combination) of different materials (desulfurization gypsum, grass carbon and humic acid) on crop yield and grain nutrient content in saline-alkali soil, a randomized block experiment with eight treatments and three repeats was conducted in Laoling, Shandong from 2014 to 2015. The results showed that compared to the treatment without improvement of the first season wheat, single application or different combinations of desulfurized gypsum and organic materials did not significantly increase wheat yield. Compared to the treatment without improvement of maize, single application or 1:2 combination of desulfurized gypsum and humic acid did not significantly increase maize yield, while 1:1 combination increased maize yield by 40%. 1:1 combination treatment increased N and K contents in maize kernel significantly, decreased pH value by 0.5 unit, increased available K content and decreased exchangeable Na content, which could maintain the balance of K/Na in soil solution. 1:1 combination of desulfurized gypsum and humic acid has application prospect in short-time improvement of saline-alkali soil.
