Abstract:

Low cost, sustainable and ecological ways are of great significance to the improvement of saline-alkali soil. In this study, indoor simulated experiment and field application were simultaneously carried out to test the effects of leaching, organic fertilizer and gravel on the improvement of saline-alkali soil. The plant growth of Sapindus mukorossi was used to examine the improvement results. There were three different treatments, 10 cm depth of gravel adding 10, 15 and 20 cm depth of organic fertilizer respectively. The results showed that leaching reduced soil pH, electrical conductivity and sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), and caused the loss of mineral nutrients. The combination of leaching and organic fertilizer produced better results because of the supplement of mineral nutrients and organic matter. The leaching and soil improvement effects were positively correlated with the addition of organic fertilizer. Compared with the control, 20 cm depth of organic fertilizer decreased soil pH by 7%, Na+ content by 28%, and SAR by 45%, but increased the content of soil organic matter, available nitrogen and available phosphorus by 37%, 43% and 73%, respectively. Leaching and 20 cm depth of organic fertilizer and 10 cm gravel were applied to soil improvement in landscape engineering, and for S. mukorossi, the leaf color was normal, the gas exchange was high and the death rate was zero.
