Effects on Photosynthetic Capacity, Yield, and Quality of Sorghum: Planting Density, Micro-fertilizer and Compound Fertilizer

Abstract:

To provide a theoretical practice for high-yield cultivation of sorghum in the western region of Guanzhong, the brewed sorghum variety ‘Hongyingzi' was used as the experimental material, and the effects of plant density, Mn-fertilizer, compound-fertilizer, and Zn-fertilizer in the field on the leaf photosynthetic capacity, seed quality, yield, and yield component were studied. The optimum compound mode of yield was to plant at a density of level 3, with Mn-fertilizer, compound-fertilizer, and Zn-fertilizer level of 2, respectively. The optimum compound mode for the comprehensive score of photosynthetic capacity was that planting density and Zn-fertilizer were level 1, and Mn-fertilizer, compound-fertilizer were level 2. The compound modes of different factors had a certain effect on crude protein, starch, crude fat and tannin, and there were differences in the different compound modes for obtaining different quality indicators. The compound mode with planting density of 16.5×104 plants/hm2, Mn-fertilizer of 7.5 kg/hm2, compound-fertilizer of 750 kg/hm2, and Zn-fertilizer of 7.5 kg/hm2 could obtain high yield and suitable quality in the western region of Guanzhong.
