Abstract:

With the continuous expanding of planting area, frequent transportation of seed potatoes and inadequate quality supervision, the potato scab has been increasingly serious since potato staple food normalization. In order to clarify the resistance of potato cultivars (lines) to potato scab in Yunnan Province and screen out the breeding materials for resistance, this study collected 33 potato materials, conducted tissue culture, and evaluated the resistance by means of tissue culture potted seedlings. At the same time, the field incidence of potato cultivars was investigated. The results showed that after inoculation of scab pathogen on tissue culture seedlings of 33 tested potato varieties (lines), different degrees of scab disease occurred in all tested varieties. The incidence rate ranged from 58% to 96.67%. The lowest incidence rate was I-1085, and the highest incidence rate was F37-2; the disease index ranged from 22.58 to 67.27, with the lowest being Fx3 and the highest being F37-2. This study aims to preliminarily clarify the resistance level of the main potato varieties (lines) in Yunnan Province to potato scab, providing support for the breeding of potato varieties with resistance to potato scab in Yunnan Province.
