Abstract:

Organic fertilizer is a key environmentally friendly input for advancing the green transformation of agriculture, which is of great significance for improving soil quality, enhancing the quality of agricultural products, and preventing and controlling agricultural non-point source pollution. Based on the systematic review of domestic and foreign policy background and research progress, this study takes Shanghai as the core case and combines the national vision to systematically and deeply discuss the application status and development strategy of organic fertilizer in the transformation of green agriculture. This paper clarifies the multi-dimensional value of organic fertilizer in soil improvement and quality enhancement, analyzes their current application status, and identifies the core bottlenecks in extension, including the unbalanced application proportion across regions and crop types, insufficient technical support and supporting services, prominent contradictions between costs and benefits, and cognitive biases among farmers. From multiple dimensions including individual characteristics, household endowments, technical and economic constraints, policy and service environment, as well as social cognitive networks, this study further reveals the complex driving and restrictive mechanisms affecting farmers’ adoption behavior of organic fertilizer. On this basis, a collaborative promotion strategy system covering targeted policy implementation, technical empowerment, institutional innovation, market cultivation and social guidance is constructed to systematically break through the bottlenecks in promotion and promote the scientific and large-scale application of organic fertilizer. This study will provide a decision-making reference for the green transformation of agriculture and the reduction and efficiency improvement of chemical fertilizer at the megacity and national levels.
