Abstract:

To investigate the antioxidant activities in vitro of different polarity fractions of extract from Arundina graminifolia, different polarities of extracts were obtained by using different polaritiy solvents, such as chloroform, ethyl acetate, normal butyl alcohol. The content of bioactive materials was detected by absorption spectroscopy. Scavenging activities for hydroxyl radicals (?OH) and inhibition of lipid peroxidation were used to do evaluate antioxidant activities of different polarity fractions. Different polarity fractions of extract from Arundina graminifolia were observed antioxidant activities, and existed concentration-effect relationships. Four fractions had different antioxidant effects in different reaction systems. The same quality of chloroform, concentration of ethyl acetate, l-butanal and rutin slightly higher than the water phase constrast, rutin under the same quality of concentration. The extracts in ethyl acetate had the strongest antioxidant effect.
