Abstract:
Cowpea foot rot is a serious disease in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. Its pathogen was Pythium aphanidermatum (Eds.) Fitzp. based on cultivation traits and morphological characteristics. The result of pathogen identification was first reported in China. The optimum Illumination for the growth of the mycelium was 22 h full dark after 2 h ultraviolet irradiation. The optimum temperature and pH were 33~38℃ and 6~7 respectively. The optimal medium was PDA. The optimal carbon source and nitrogen source were starch and (NH4)2HPO4 respectively.
