Abstract:

In order to study the function of Profilin protein in rubber tree, the whole open reading frame (ORF) of profilin fromHevea brasiliensis was obtained with 3′ -RACE technique, and the characterizations of HbPro1 were analyzed, such as the transmembrane structures, signal peptides, and secondary structure, etc. The results showed thatHbPro1 encoded 131 amino acids with a conserved PROF domain. No signal peptides and transmembrane structures were predicted within HbPro1. The predicted secondary structure showed that HbPro1 was classified as mixed type. The phylogenetic tree of 25 Profilin proteins indicated that HbPro1 displayed a high similarity to Profilin proteins, and belonged to plant profilins. This study was helpful for further study of theHbPro1 functions.
