Abstract: Huangshan white tea, also known as Huizhou white tea, is a new variant of the species of Huangshan tea plants. The pathway of chlorophyll biosynthesis was restrained by the influence of genetic factors and environmental impact, which led to the decrease of chlorophyll content in tea leaf, then the color of bud and leaf tended to white or yellowish-white. As a characteristic agriculture industry of Shexian county, Huangshan white tea industry had active and important impacts on supporting the development of rural economy, increasing the income of peasants and so on. In this paper, the author reviewed the development history of Huangshan white tea industry, introduced the advantages, and analyzed the current situation and development problems in Shexian county. Finally some thoughts and countermeasures of industrial development were proposed, which includes four major aspects, such as building three bases, setting up consciousness for top quality brand, establishing industry culture, and developing white tea industry in a rational way.
