Abstract: Effects of low temperature and poor light (10℃/5℃, photo flux density were 60 and 120μmol/) on some physiological indexes in eggplant seedlings were studied. The results showed that the net photosynthetic rate (Pn), Stomatal conductance(Gs), chlorophyll concentration, light compensation point(LCP), light saturation point (LSP), CO2 saturation point (CSP), maximum assimilation rate with light(CO2)saturating, apparent quanyum yield of photosynthesis(AQY), carboxylation efficiency(CE), photosynthetic capacity that is the photosynthetic rate without stomatal limitation(A350), maximum and optimum assimilation temperature, maximum assimilation with optimum temperature, the activities of peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT) were decreased significantly. On the other hand, CO2 compensation point(CCP), the contents of proline(Pro.) and malondialdehyde (MDA)were increased significantly. Most indexes changed acutely when photosynthetic active radiation was 120μmol/(m2·s). After them were revived for seven days, most indexes except contents of MDA still lower than control’s. It was concluded that membrane-lipid peroxidation was happened and he photosynthetic mechanism and activity of eggplant seedlings were injured under this low temperature and poor light, moreover these injuries can not been recovered.
