Abstract: Appropriate operation scale of farmland is the key to improve agricultural competitive capacity and speed up agriculture transformation. Agricultural productive service is an important factor affecting farmland operation scale. To study different effects of different types of agricultural productive service on farmland scale, sample of 1121 households in 10 provinces in China was analyzed. Correlation analysis between farmland scale and agricultural productive service was conducted using stepwise regression of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). The results showed that agricultural productive service had significantly positive effect on farmland operation scale. Items of agricultural productive service were mainly traditional items which could save labor cost at present. Specifically, new types of agricultural productive service such as loan service, agricultural insurance service, farmland circulation service, significantly promoted the farmland scale expansion and had stronger effect than traditional agricultural productive service. The results could provide reference for the developing direction and emphasis of agricultural productive service.
