Abstract: Agricultural land classification is an important component of land quality evaluation, in order to achieve sustainable land utilization and improve land use efficiency, this paper took farmland in Wujiaqu reclamation area as an example, natural, socio-economic and geographical factors were selected as the grading factors according to “agricultural land grading procedures” by factor analysis method. The factor weight was confirmed by analytic hierarchy process and experts’ recommendations, an appropriate model was used for quantification and GIS software was used to produce the score graph of grading factors, the grading index was calculated by weighted sum method. Farmland in Wujiaqu reclamation area was divided into six classes by grading indexes and practical situation, and then the farmland grading graph was obtained. The farmland quality of Wujiaqu reclamation area was generally good, most belonged to the third, fourth and fifth grade. The limiting factors of high quality farmland were economic and geographical condition, and it was natural condition for the poor quality farmland. The farmland quality levels showed interlaced trend in space. The farmland quality was determined by natural and socio-economic factors, and predominated by natural factor.
