Abstract: In this research, the main quantitative traits of the red-seed watermelon inbred line were observed, and the methods of the principal component analysis and clustering analysis were applied by SPSS statistical software. The results indicated that the percent of cumulative variance of first five principal components amounted to 86.05%, and that the eleven quantitative traits could be divided respectively into five types: yield factor, seed weight factor, growth factor, produce seed factor and quality factor, which offered the theoretical foundation for the red-seed watermelon breeding.
