Abstract: The development of the countryside comfortable and harmonious society of Guangxi was comprehensively analyzed by the Two-Step Cluster Method with county (city) as study-unit so as to reveal the relationship between a study-unit and an index variable as well as the spatial distribution law. The result showed that the 76 counties (cities) of Guangxi could be divided into 4 developmental types: highly harmonious development type-I, moderate harmonious development type-II, primary harmonious development type-III and entirely underdevelopment type-IV. The difference in development level among the types was obviously in connexion with regions and showed divergent characteristic. The general pattern was high in the east, low in the west, high in the south-east, low in the north-west. And the spatial structure appeared a dot-axle development model.
